“Waiting to Inhale”—A Medical Marijuana Documentary and Panel

“Waiting to Inhale” takes the viewer from medical marijuana dispensaries to the U.S. Supreme Court, from Israeli science labs to government-approved marijuana gardens outside London. It features leading experts, researchers, and patients from all over the world and activists on both sides of the issue and asks why the federal government continues to reject mounting evidence in support of marijuana’s benefits.
Following the film, there will be a discussion about medical marijuana with Jed Riffe, director and producer of Waiting to Inhale; Prof. Mitch Earleywine, an expert on the effects of marijuana who authored “Understanding Marijuana: A New Look at the Scientific Evidence”; and Andrew White, a disabled veteran from Wyantskill whose unrelieved pain could be treated with medical marijuana if it were a legal option.

From the flowing lines of Chinese calligraphy to the thundering motion of martial arts, choreographer Nai-Ni Chen’s quest is to meld the dynamic freedom of American modern dance with the stoic discipline of the Chinese classical arts.
Friday’s Program: An evening of traditional Chinese dance
Saturday’s (11/3) Program: “Dragons on the Wall,” a contemporary work inspired by the writings of author/poet Bei Dao with an original score by Joan LaBarbara and set design by visual artist Chen Shen. Cost $15/$10 students or buy tickets for both nights $25/$15 students.
Presented by the Performing Arts Center with funding support provided by the College of Arts and Science, Office of the Provost, Office of International Education, University Auxillary Services Inc., Holiday Inn Express and the NYS Danceforce which receives funding from the NYS Council on the Arts Dance Program and Altria Group, Inc.

A mother suffers a heart attack while watching her son protest against the regime in 1989. When the mother awakens, the GDR no longer exists. Since she must avoid all excitement, her son tries to recreate the GDR in their apartment.
