- This symposium examines the health disparities picture for Latinos in NYS including issues surrounding mental health services, preventative services and health screenings. It describes health trends in the community, the general barriers to health care access faced by Latinos, and discusses strategies to effectively address Latino health issues and problems. Cruz, Director of NYLARNet, University at Albany; Jeanette Altarriba, Professor of Psychology, University at Albany; Janine Jurkowski, Assistant Professor of Public Health, University at Albany.
