Saturday Hiking – If people are interested in hiking on Saturdays, a mix of moderate (6-8 miles) to more difficult (9-12+) hikes please email Susan. Car pooling and chipping in for gas would be figured out. Looking to hit spots in the Adirondacks and Catskills and elsewhere. Usually hike/snow shoe through winter. 11/4 Election Night Event – Hosted in Milne Hall. Watch the presidential races, complete with refreshments, multiple screens, and comentary from a panel of Rockefeller College Polticial Science Faculty and guests.

Summary:
There are a variety of government-sponsored and faith-based sponsored organizations attending this event.  Most of these opportunities are full-time and include a salary or stipend, room & board, loan deferment, and health insurance.  Some include Americorps grants for graduate school and tuition remission.

The symposium features a debate between Tracey Brooks as a representative of the Barack Obama campaign and John Faso as a representative of the John McCain Campaign. He is the author most recently of “Champlain’s Dream” (2008), the authoritative biography of French adventurer and visionary, Samuel de Champlain. The book’s publication coincides with the 400th anniversary of the founding of New France in 1608. Cosponsored by the UAlbany History Department in conjunction with the annual Fossieck Lecture.
